How to use Dr Pen microneedling pens?

Prep
It’s advisable to stop using any Vitamin A/Retinol type creams 3-5 days before use to prevent irritation. It’s also best if you avoid fish oil or any anti-inflammatory tablets 3-5 days before as well as this increases your risk of bleeding. phasellus faucibus. Important: Microneedling/Nano-needling cartridges must be sterilized before each use to ensure safe and hygienic treatment. Follow these steps to sterilize your microneedling cartridges:

Put on gloves to avoid contaminating the cartridges during sterilization.
Check the cartridge; ensure the needles are in perfect condition and remove any debris.
Pour enough alcohol solution(isopropyl alcohol solution (70% or above)) into the clean container and dip the cartridge needle into it, then soak for a couple of minutes,and if you have an alcohol solution spray, you can spray it towards the needle head of the cartridge.
Allow the cartridge to air dry completely before using it.
Safely dispose of cartridges after every use.

Do Not Use

On open wounds.
On acne or irritated skin.
If irritation occurs.

After-care
To ensure the proper healing environment, please following the information below.

Do not use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare for at least 7 days post-treatment.
Avoid extended periods in the sun and apply an SPF when you leave the house
Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments are harmful, rife with bacteria, and may cause adverse reactions

Does microneedling hurt?
It depends on the needle depth setting:
Shallow (0.25mm – 0.5mm): Minimal discomfort, feels like a vibrating toothbrush or light scratch against the skin.
Deep (1.0mm+): Can be uncomfortable. We recommend consulting a professional or using a numbing cream if you plan to treat deep scars.

Downtime
There is no downtime as such, however, the first day or two after your treatment you will experience redness and your skin will flake. Avoid using Dr Pen if you wish to attend an event within 48 – 72 hours post-treatment.

How often should I use my device?
Skin recovery is key to results. Do not overuse!
Nano Needles: Can be used weekly (for serum infusion).
0.25mm – 0.5mm: Every 2 weeks.
1.0mm and deeper: Once every 4 to 6 weeks.Your skin needs time to produce collagen and heal.

36-Pin & 42-Pin Cartridges (Best for Overall Anti-Aging & Tone): These feature more needles that are slightly thinner. They are ideal for general skin tightening, treating fine lines, fading hyperpigmentation/sun spots, and improving overall skin texture.
Round/3D/5D Nano Cartridges (Best for Glow & Painless Serum Absorption): Nano needles do not actually puncture the skin; instead, they create microscopic pathways in the top layer of the epidermis. Needle Depth Guide
To get the best results from your microneedling treatment, we recommend tailoring the cartridges that you use to the area of your face that you’re treating.

Forehead, Nose, and Eyebrows (Bony areas): Keep the depth very shallow, between 0.25mm to 0.5mm. Going deeper in these areas is unnecessary and can cause discomfort.
Cheeks and Jawline (Fleshier areas): You can safely use 0.5mm to 1.5mm (or up to 2.0mm for deep, stubborn acne scarring).
Under-Eye Area: Extremely delicate! Keep it at 0.25mm maximum, or use a Nano cartridge.

It’s also important to consider the type of skin that you’re treating, as thicker skin (such as mature skin or skin with stretch marks and scar tissue) may require a slightly deeper treatment to get the optimum results.

What is the difference between Dr. Pen M8 and M8S?

When examining the physical designs of both pens, there are distinct differences in their user interfaces, locking systems, and charging ports.

The Dr. Pen M8 features a compact LED screen that displays a single digit representing the current speed level. It utilizes a proprietary cylindrical pin-style port for charging and operates with a classic two-bayonet twist-and-lock cartridge insertion mechanism.
The Dr. Pen M8S features an expanded digital screen with a modern interface. It uses a universal USB-C port for charging and introduces an upgraded three-bayonet twist-and-lock cartridge insertion mechanism. Additionally, the casing of the M8S has subtle ergonomic contours designed for a different grip style.

The locking mechanisms of these two devices are different.

The Dr. Pen M8 is designed with a two-bayonet locking slot. This system uses two locking tabs on the base of the needle cartridge to secure it into the pen casing.
The Dr. Pen M8S uses a three-bayonet locking slot. This system utilizes three locking tabs on the base of the cartridge. The three-point contact design is engineered to lock the needle firmly in place, minimizing micro-wobble and vibration when the motor runs at higher speeds.

Hygiene is a key focus for both models, but they utilize different cartridge structures to prevent fluid backflow.

The Dr. Pen M8 cartridges utilize a standard protective barrier inside the needle housing. This configuration is highly effective when the device is held and operated vertically according to instructions.
